Gary Cardiff Story
Gary Cardiff is a long-time Palm Springs-area resident and champion of the magnificent desert that has given so much pleasure to so many. His brief trips away from home took him to Occidental College in Los Angeles where he graduated with a bachelor’s in economics.
A passionate sportsman, he toured Europe as an amateur with the London Welsh Rugby Team and turned professional for France’s Perpignan Team. His international experience took on a local twist when he returned to the Coachella Valley and founded the Rugby Club of the Desert.
Since 1980, after a stint as a stockbroker, Gary has been involved in ground transportation. In 1990, he founded Cardiff Limousine & Transportation. A family affair, his wife Sharon, who has an extensive background in retail fashion, created the stunning color combinations for many of the Euro bus exteriors.
During his 20 years in the ground transportation business, Gary has built a solid reputation based on his hands-on approach with clients who have come to respect his expertise, attention to detail and accessibility. His company’s fleet of 55 luxury vehicles and state-of-the art facility in Palm Desert, California, are indicative of the high standards that have become synonymous with the name “Cardiff.”
Active locally, Cardiff is a member of the Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Coachella, La Quinta and Indio chambers of commerce. Professional affiliations include the California Business Association, United Motorcoach Association, National Tour Association, National Limousine Association and the Greater California Livery Association.
Gary is a past president of the College of the Desert Alumni Association, a board member of ACT for MS, and a current board member and past officer of the Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities Convention and Visitors Authority.
